WHAT IS A MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDER?

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are conditions that affect your body's muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, discs and nerves. MSDs can develop over time or can occur immediately due to overload.

WILL I BE SEEING MORE THAN ONE THERAPIST THROUGHOUT MY VISIT?

The therapist who evaluates you will be the same therapist who will see you at all follow-up visits. 

HOW IS MCKENZIE METHOD DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL PHYSICAL THERAPY?

This widely respected and comprehensive treatment is tailored for each individual. The McKenzie Method:

  • Focuses more on teaching home exercise program

  • Emphasizes active treatment using exercise and minimizes use of passive treatments 

  • Uses manual therapy, when necessary, to supplement the benefits of the exercise.

HOW FREQUENT ARE RETURN VISITS?

Return visits to the clinic are scheduled only as needed. Recommended frequency of return visits is based on referring physician collaboration, results of initial PT assessment, and your lifestyle. We strive to be flexible and creative in achieving PT goals utilizing a treatment model custom-fit to your needs.
